Coventry music fans and Godiva Festival revellers have reacted after Sir Bob Geldof’s band The Boomtown Rats were announced as Friday night headliners.
The three-day free-for-all festival will run from July 1 to July 3 in War Memorial Park, with Liverpudlian 90s’ group Space supporting the legendary ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’ rockers on the first night.
Tuesday's announcement was made after The Charlatans and Mystery Jets were confirmed to play the main stage on Saturday night.
The festival's organisers hope the opening night will be just as popular as ever, with Coun Abdul Khan, cabinet member for events, saying: “We are really excited to have such a big name headlining our Friday night main stage.
“We’ve announced four bands now and the reaction so far has been incredibly positive.”
