We are calling local singer/songwriters to take part in a competition to impress the judges and win a slot on the Godiva Festival stages as part of the Godiva Calling competition.

Acts who wish to take part in the competition will need to have a CV postcode and perform original material.

The competition will be split into four genres, which will help ensure that judging will be equal, with each subset heat compared and judged on the same criteria. Both signed and unsigned bands are welcome to apply for the competition.

Acts are asked to apply online for the competition genre that best applies to their music, with heats held at the following venues:

  • Kasbah – indie/pop

  • Urban Coffee at Fargo Village - urban

  • Albany Social Club – singer/songwriter

  • The Arches and The Tin - rock/metal

Two acts from each genre will be given the opportunity to play on one of the Godiva Festival stages.

They will also be featured on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Introducing, as part of their support for local music.
